Review content:
My poodle's standard, no complication, operation to remove bladder stones cost $1500. A few years ago, another pet needed an operation to remove something stuck in the intestines. It cost $900 and the animal did not survive the operation (I am not blaming anyone, I'm just commenting on the cost). To get yearly exams, shots, and standard preventative medication, it costs between $220 and $280 depending on the pet (again, that's per year and per pet). When Dr. Rubenstein owned the practice I did not have such concerns. The practice is no longer owned by him and I have been seeing a different, young vet each time I visit. The vets seem to be recruited right out of vet school. After going to Tuscawilla Oaks Animal Hospital for 15 years, it's time for me to look elsewhere. I just can't afford their fees and hope I can locate a more affordable practice. If they're all like this, it may be time for me to do without pets. And that would be unfortunate.
