I?ve been coughing since 9/17, and last wknd this ?cold? got worse. Yesterday, I saw Dr. A. Rodman. First, she made me TAKE OFF MY SHIRT to ""listen to my lungs."" I had a sweater on over a shirt (over nothing), and after I took off the sweater, she made me take off the almost-transparent shirt. I told her about my history of pneumonia and that this cough has lasted for 2+ wks, and she said it?s prob viral and even if I did have bronchitis, they would treat the symptoms, not prescribe antibiotics. She said that if I didn't get better in a couple wks, I should come by for a chest x-ray, and to take cough syrup before bed-which I've been doing since 9/17, as I told her. When I asked her why I came to her if she only tells me to take OTC stuff I?m already taking, she said, ""Well, we?d counsel against that. You really don't need to come in for the first two weeks with a cold."" What ""cold"" is lasting two weeks without abating?!! And, it?s ALREADY been two wks! She goes, ""I can tell you're not happy. Would you like me to get a second opinion?"" She walked out and came back a minute later and said, ""She agrees with me."" I asked if I could speak to the other doctor, and she lost her composure and snaps at me, ""Really???"" The 2nd doctor (E. Janeway) came in, and I apologized to her for taking her time and asked why, if this is just a cold, do my lungs hurt and do I cough up green tabbouli-like stuff (sorry). She said no one goes by color of sputum anymore. I asked why the nasal stuff was clear and the lung stuff was green if the lung stuff was postnasal drip, and she said no one had researched that. Then she talked to me like I was 5: ""What they do now is take 1000 people and give half of them Amoxycillin, half of them Zithromax, and the other half [""the other half""?] a placebo, and they find that 'Gosh, all three get better in the same amount of time!'"" So, after waiting for 90 min, I am sexually harassed, treated like a petulant child, and given no meds, and I?m still sick. Pros: cheap Cons: long wait, no choice of provider, unprofessional doctors, no prescriptions given
