Review content:
As a spa enthusiast, I have been going to this spa periodically. Twice I went for the body scrub/massage combination and the practitioner was terrific. I left feeling energized and like a new person. Twice I had the hot oil massage after workouts and found the first one better than the second, but still worth my time and money.\r \r The third hot oil massage was the worst. It was not a full body. It was some body rocking and some upper back work. The strokes were boring and not fully executed. The masseur spoke too much asking bizarre questions which I found distracting. The massage had no start to finish feeling. It felt like we were getting started the whole time. I kept waiting for the hot oil and it never came. On the way out, I found it rude that the masseur was watching me figure out his tip. I gave him a standard tip, but not my usual generous one. I told the receptionist that it was not a hot oil massage. The masseur said he didn't know that's what I wanted. The receptionist said he told him. He apologized. Mistakes do happen, but when asked which massage he gave me, he had no answer and did not know. It felt like a bad Chinatown massage. \r \r In addition, I was in the first room which is a far cry from the other rooms in atmosphere. The lights were bright and it felt very clinical. In addition, there was no music until the end of the massage. The walls were so paper thin that I can hear the rest of the staff speaking loudly in the lobby. \r \r I feel that I should have been offered more than an apology for this bad experience. I am now turned off by this place and left feeling ripped off and disappointed. \r \r I gave a 3 star rating based on my overall past experiences, but this experience only deserves a half a star. I will not be back anytime soon and have an appt at Wellness Men's Day Spa as I am still looking for the massage experience I did not get. Never been there but hoping it will be a great experience. Pros: Friendly staff; reasonable Cons: Not all the staff is created equal
