Review content:
After knee replacement, scar tissue developed quickly around the joint, greatly restricting range of motion. When my surgeon recommended CH Therapy, I didn't have high hopes because my PT experiences usually end out of boredom rather than achieved goals. \r
\r
CH Therapy is different. The Pearl District staff are friendly and eager. Therapists are always 'on point', and detailed daily records are kept for each patient. Colin Hoobler has developed uniform procedures for his therapists, informed by his ample education and his experience as a successful athlete. \r
\r
My regimen was a half-hour of intense one-on-one strength exercise, plus closely-monitored cardio and sustained stretching, with much insistence on correct form. The stretching involved some pain, but Colin's and Kim's sincere encouragement (and occasional light-hearted ridicule) challenged me to try my best. \r
\r
The therapy saved me from having to return to the hospital for a manipulation. The weekend after finishing therapy (and four months after surgery) I bicyled, hiked Gorge trails, and XCskied at MtHood. It will take time to restore my knee to full function, but Colin has given me tools to work with on my own, to be supplemented with occasional return visits.
