In Dec, 2009, we purchased a La-Z-Boy Lift Chair from Mathis Bros. for my 94 year old mother. Everything was fine until Nov, 2010 when the leg lift would not go down. Mother climbed out of the chair pulling a muscle in the process & ended up in the hosp ER. The chair was picked up for repair and returned 3 times in Dec. 2010. It worked for about 4 weeks then broke again. Each time it takes about 2 or 3 days to get picked up, 2 or 3 days for repair and return so she is without a chair for about a week. She is in a small apt in assisted living & this is a real problem for her chair to be gone. Went to Mathis Cust Serv to try to find a resolution. Asked to trade for a regular small recliner. Mathis says as long as her warranty is in effect they will only pick up chair for repair. We have 2 more yrs of warranty.
