Review content:
NOTE: This hotel has been rebranded as a Crowne Plaza. I am reviewing the Crowne Plaza.
If you are disgusted by the high rates charged by hotels in Lake George, Glens Falls, and Saratoga Springs, I definitely recommend staying in Lake Placid (90 miles away), especially in the Crowne Plaza. Formerly a Holiday Inn, this hotel offers four restaurants (not all are attached to the lobby!), an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool tub, a bar with a delightful view of Mirror Lake, a private beach, and two golf courses. There are 11 tennis courts, too. Rates range from about $99-$199 per night, depending on the season and the room. (view or no view) The rooms are beautifully appointed, and are spacious. They are immaculate.
My biggest issue with this hotel was the staff: the front desk clerk was a bit unfriendly and the bartender was not too helpful when asked for directions. Arturo's Restaurant located by the lobby had bad food, and cost a ton!
This hotel is located atop a hill,
