Feb 2009. As a traveler in Palm Desert and needing a CA smog certificate I found Pete's Automotive on the Internet. My visit to Pete's found the premise to be spotless and the office staff very polite and capable and my smog test performed in a timely and professional manner. Little did I realize that within the week I would be back with bigger problems. A direct short in my jeep left my windows and the on board computer inoperative. Pete's automotive analyzed my vehicle and found nothing wrong. (The windows; compass, and computer started working) They flushed my brake system which they had noted on my first visit and thoroughly tested my electrical system. It is outstanding to find an ethical mechanic that doesn't make unneeded repairs.
