Review content:
My husband and I took a mini vacation through California's Gold Country. We decided to find a place to stay that was centrally located...Jackson was the perfect place. Lucky for us it is the home of Jackson Rancheria's Casino and Resort. Our room was beautiful and quiet, with a large very comfortable bed, satallite TV, hair dryer, coffee maker, and room service, for breakfast in bed! The hotel staff was extremely friendly and efficient. My husband took advantage of the pool while I enjoyed a leisurely scented soak in the tub (the casino gift store has a great selection of toiletries). Dinner at the River Rapids Restuarant week-end buffet offered a great selection of seafood, roasted meats, ham, salads, sides and dessert all presented by a friendly staff. Unfortunately at this time the hotel/casino was experiencing staffing problems which lead to limited 24 hour services (for instance, no room service after 11:00PM and one 24 hour cafe), but we had a great time playing at casino games (and winning!) well into the morning. The casino is large and offers plenty of slots, roulette and table games, even on a Saturday night we were able to find plenty of choices in all areas of gaming. And they have an arcade for the under 18 year olds. Get driving instructions because it's a bit off the beaten track but once you know where you're headed it's easy to access off Highway 49 or Highway 88. And check out their suites, awesome!...we will stay in one of them during our next visit. A couple of drawbacks, the handicapped parking is not convenient, it's a bit of a walk to the casino from the hotel (shuttle service is available) and the bathroom dressing area is painted a yellow hue and the light cover was partially yellow which makes for some interesting skin color. While this is still a newly built casino and they are working on the amenities, kudos to Jackson Rancheria on a job well done. And great place to stay while you explore California's Gold Rush history. Pros: Friendly and Efficient Staff, Ambience, Service Cons: Handicapped Parking is inconvenient
