I have been a client at Van Michael's for over 12 years, which I think speaks for itself. They are a classy and upscale hair salon and, yes, the services costs more. But I believe you get what you pay for when it comes to hair style and color. The stylists and colorists are well trained and continue to work there for years while keeping up with the classics and the trends which, again, speaks for itself. They are provided opportunity to grow and improve and establish great service provided relationships with their clients. I personally have developed a friendship with my stylist who was in New Talents when I first started seeing him and now - married with two beautiful daughters later - is teaching others and attending shows for Van Michael's. And I have developed a close friendship with my colorist as one of my dearest friends. Not to say this is a requirement or 'extra' for Van Michaels, just showing how great the people are on a personal level in addition to their admirable skill and knowledge. I also love the truly provided 'extras' when I visit - the friendly smiles, the offer of a beverage, a hand massage and/or neck massage, the cleanliness, the clean gowns, the plastic bags for your handbag....all appreciated! The product choices with the Aveda line are varied for your needs and, although it's been awhile, you can receive a makeup consultation for free for the Aveda makeup. Great services.\r

All in all - yes, more expensive but oh so worth every penny!
