My family and I just returned from Boston and one of the highlights of the trip was a quick lunch we had at Nebo's. They have apparently been open for about a year but had just opened for lunch the week we visited. The sandwich reminded me of sitting at my Grandmas' kitchen table enjoying one of her Italian cold cut sandwiches but (sorry Grandma) it was better. The bread was the way a true Italian bread should be...freshly made, crusty without being difficult to eat, and great texture inside. The meats were lean and tender, the tomatoes thick and juicy. The greens were fresh and delicious. They were running a special and all of their sandwiches were $5.00!! Best deal in town! My daughter had a meatball sandwich and the tomato sauce was delicious and freshly made! You can tell that great care is taken to ensure that only the finest ingredients are used. (I saw the owner roasting her own red peppers on the grill!) The owner was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. The cookies and canoli were also delicious and made from scratch. I wish we had more time to return for dinner but I would highly recommend this North End gem!! Pros: Delicious, fresh, true Italian food, great atmosphere, wonderful owners/staff!
