When my daughter was younger, she enrolled in every kind of dance and music class there was.... and each one had to have different shoes and uniforms. What I learned quickly was to start with inexpensive equipment until she had completed at least one session of classes and then I graduated her into better quality equipment.
Payless Shoes was my surprising best friend for a while as a result. They have a whole line of inexpensive yet adequate beginner footwear for everything from ballet to football. Not all stores carry them, however. Usually Lloyd Center has all options but not in all sizes.
Enter the internet. At Payless shoes, you can find what you want on their website, even order it in multiple sizes, have it delivered to the nearest store to you without paying any shipping, try the shoes on, and return on the spot the sizes that don't fit.
Enjoy the time your daughter is taking ballet...and remember to take lots of pictures!
