Review content:
My colleagues and I have been going to Viva Zapata’s for years, but on our last trip to Viva’s, we were appalled by their incredibly rude service. Instead of being greeted by a hello, our server Ann told us we had to order food to sit. She proceeded to bark this to each person who sat down and yelled at a couple of people who mistakenly ordered at the bar when walking in. \r \r When one of our friends, who works in food service too, spoke to a manager about our server, she got screamed at by the owner/cook. He yelled at her for not honoring her reservation for 17 people (we had 15), pulling a table over, and not ordering dinner. She told him that we did order food (an app or entrée) and a couple rounds of drinks each, but it didn’t matter. He was not open to listening or any sort of civility. \r \r I could understand if they were busy, but half the tables were empty. In addition, a couple nearby only ordered water and apps and they weren’t yelled at. Another owner came out when we wanted to get the manager’s name and she tried to appease us by offering free chips on our next visit….did I mention the first round of chips are free at this place??? Our bill was over $340 and all they can do are free chips?? Unreal…..there are other places in Westport with good food and good service that will be getting my money in the future. \r
