Review content:
Yesterday was the first time I have been to the Palm location in Charlotte and it was a great overall experience. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Phillips Place it has a nice secluded location.
We opted to have a casual few drinks and their bar menu during happy hour (mon-fri 5-7;9-close) and were pleasantly surprised by the value for a high end establishment. The new bar menu has 6 or 7 bar menu items with everything from cured meat and cheese plate to prime beef sliders, mini crab cakes, panko crusted chicken tenders, lobster sliders and more. The price for all of these are $3.50.
I opted for the mini crab cakes and panko crusted chicken tenders. Both were amazing. The crab cakes had plenty of crab meat in them and although there were three small portions, it was enough for the price. It was accompanied by a nice mango/pineapple and jalepeno compote which added a nice touch. The chicken tenders were really good, they were lightly covered in Panko and fried, but did not have a greasy taste to them surprisingly; it came with a nice chili bbq sauce. With all of these bar plates they come with a handful of their homemade waffle potato chips which are phenomenal.
Drinks are what you'd expect at a high end restaurant, but with inexpensive food it all evens out. The service was great, our server, Eric, didn't have any attitude with us just getting a couple bar menu items and a few drinks and was more than accommodating.
Having such a great experience during happy hour, definitely will make me stop in for a full dinner soon.
