Terrible. Went in to see my new doctor (my second visit) in order to consult with her about getting pregnant. I was scheduled for a 30 minute appointment, rather than the normal 15 because of the nature of my visit.--just wanted to make sure I was doing the right things and get whatever tests I needed before we tried to get pregnant. My doctor spent ~3 minutes with me. Despite my age (41) and at least one chronic health concern that has me really worried, the doctor took no medical history, asked if I was taking prenatal vitamins, told me not to drink/smoke/etc (none of which I do as my medical file would have told her had she cracked it open at any point). She shrugged off my chronic health concern despite the fact that it can make it impossible for me to walk, gave me a list of OB/Gyns and left. If I hadn't needed a flu shot, the whole thing would have been a wash. It only got worse when I called back to ask if my age and condition made any hoped-for pregnancy "high-risk." It took over a week to get an answer and the answer was scary. "No." Despite my age and my back issue? "Yes, not high risk." Who will be treating the back issue in relation to the pregnancy? "What is your back issue?" What is your back issue? You just told me that I wasn't a high-risk pregnancy DESPITE my age and back issue and you don't even know what that back issue is? Did you roll dice to decide? And the answer as to who would handle my back issue? I was sent out to find yet another doctor to handle that. Evidently, giving me the flu shot exhausted their inventory of available services. And they probably made close to $200 for the visit (between the insurance and the co-pay) in which the only thing they did was give me the flu shot which would have cost me only $30 at Rite Aid. Based on what I've seen around the place, they exist only to take your money and refer you somewhere else for any real medical care. Which, all things considered, may be the best thing.
