Businiess name:  The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
We should have heeded the past reviews on this website, however, we were set on staying at the ""Historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel"". How could we go wrong?\r Needless to say, our experience was almost identical to the ones already decribed on Citysearch. When we checked in the management was welcoming, but the experience totally degraded from that point on. In the evening, every bar, lounge, the pool, and the ""historic lobby"" was closed to either a private party, or you had to be on the ""VIP"" list. When asked how we get on the VIP list, the concierge handed us off to the front desk and the front desk ultimately told us it was ""not for people like you and me, but for VIPs"" .\r Accepting this, we asked if they could recommend a place with dancing. They were so completely unhelpful that it was comical - apparently, there are no other places in LA they could come up with. \r I don't know why an ""upscale"" hotel would not be more welcoming and helpful to their guests.\r Pros: The name is prestigious. Cons: Unhelpful and even degrading service.
