""Joe"", my preschool aged brother, was seen for asthma like symptoms several times over the last year. They prescribed prednisone 3 times, has been on nebulized albuteral maybe once a month, yet still do not want to prescribe longer term preventatives despite the research showing a child with this severity of symptoms should be on preventatives. He also went in for flu like symptoms. Despite research showing that half of the h1n1 flu cases do NOT show up on laboratory tests, they assured my mom that he did not have the flu and if any of us get sick just to stay home, rather than admitting the truth- they simply do not know AND they do not know if my mom or I have medical conditions that could make this advice very dangerous (I happen to have one). The front desk staff are rude and rushed. The waiting room is frequently overcrowded, standing room only (much worse than the health department), and they do NOT use face masks on people with suspected flu. When getting Joe evaluated for autism (we needed a referral to a developmental pediatrician- and yes, he is on the autism spectrum) the doctor talked to us told us that he'll ""always be a little bit off"". Talk about professional. His OT script sat at the nurses station for over a week, and they did not bother to tell us they needed $10 to fill it out when it was dropped off or by phone (my mom had to call them). Oh, and you'll be lucky if you see the same doctor more than twice in a row (Dr. Claude is actually very good, if you can see him!). Seriously- look elsewhere. The health department is even better than this place. Pros: Usually can see you in a day Cons: Crowded waiting room, poor medical care
