Review content:
We purchased an expensive 52 inch modern fireplace from Fireplace and Patio Shoppe in Eastchester. Our experience was poor. The fireplace was delivered four weeks late, holding up construction, and was literally dumped in the driveway. Unlike competitors, Eastchester Fireplace and Patio does not do their own installation. Instead they refer you to a private contractor (who is in fact related to their owner), whose prices are hundreds of dollars more than the price charged by competitors for installation of similar models. In addition, despite providing professional contruction drawings, and showing where the ventilation was to go, they provided no information or spec sheets on ventatilation. Thus the additional cost of venting, which we thought was included in the final $5000+, was extra. Finally, and worse yet, the ""contractor/installer"" specified a vent kit system that was nearly $500 more, was not correct for the unit we purchased, and would have been insufficient to handle the BTU output of that unit (read whatever safty concern you may have into that one -- I'm no expert). I finally called a competitor, and had to have a different installer do the job (for $300 less than their quote). Not professional; not responsible -- my advice-- go elsewhere
