Review content:
After reading the positive reviews posted here, we were really looking forward to enjoying this place, but had no such luck. They don't accept credit cards, something potential diners should be aware of. ""Be prepared to wait."" is an understatement; we waited a full hour in the cramped and stifling ""dining room"" for our take-out order and when it arrived, one of the meals was missing. Oops! So sorry. We forgot. After getting a peek at the food, we declined to wait any further. The spring rolls ($9 for half a dozen) were charred and greasy, in fact everything was greasy except the crispy fish, which I must confess, was quite tasty. The chicken satay glistened with huge chunks of fat and was swimming in a viscous peanut sauce that had the consistency of congealed gravy. The pad thai was unlike any I've ever tasted, made with wide oily noodles and nary a vegetable to be found. Perhaps our experience was atypical, but we will never return nor give this place a recommendation to anyone whose friendship we value. I am not someone with an ax to grind; this is my 14th Citysearch review and my very first negative one. I must concur with the previous poster (sherly) who suspects the positive review (shill) posted by ""lannacore"" was indeed written by the owner's daughter, a gymnast whose posters are prominently displayed within the restaurant. I can't imagine why else someone would take to personally insulting someone for sharing their opinion. Pros: Cute, kitschy mom and pop place. Cons: Substandard food, unacceptable wait, indifferent service, cramped dining space, expensive!
