Review content:
our party of 8 came here on sunday night. i had previously been to earls (dukes spawn restaurant), and found duke pretty much the same, only better. the decor was the same and the menu shares most of the same items. our server was pretty nice (unlike our inattentive server at earls) and brought our drinks very quickly. she was ok with the drink refills too, but i dont think that she cleared a single glass during the entire night we had a table full of empty glasses at the end of the meal.\r \r we started off with orders of family sized buffalo wings, nachos, and piggly wigglys (pigs in blankets). i didnt try the wings, but they disappeared quickly so i think that they were good. the nachos came sans chili (they were out of it), but i actually preferred the bean-less version anyway it was loaded with chunky guacamole, a few different types of cheeses, salsa, and ground beef. it was also served very hot and the chips tasted like they had just come out from a vat of hot oil. very good. the piggly wigglys were very miniature, but very tasty.\r \r for my main course, i ordered the small mac & cheese ($7) & the house salad ($6). the others had various sandwiches or burgers. my mac & cheese was really good it had a crunchy top and the inside wasnt too gooey or watery. we also used it as a medium for experimenting with the 6 different hot sauces on the table. they were mostly too hot for me, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless. of the sandwiches, the roadhouse (i think that was what it was called) was especially good chicken fried steak on a toasted bun with avocado, lettuce, tomato, & a creamy sauce. all of the sandwiches came with a small cup of slaw and a pile of (slightly limp) shoestring fries. we were too stuffed for dessert. overall, i liked this place better than earls due to slightly better food and way better service. Pros: inexpensive, large portions, good comfort food Cons: limp fries, only ok service
