He never allowed me to talk about the problems I was having in my life that brought me to his office. He jumped straight to a diagnosis of life long mental illness and attempted to push my neurologist to prescribe inappropriate medications. It took a lot of time and research to fend off his recommendation. I was grieving over a sever loss in my life, and for that, he attempted to diagnose me with bipolar. Thank goodness, I was intelligent enough to research this diagnosis and protect myself from medication that could have severely undermined my ability to get well. I was left to struggle back to wellness on my own by practicing good health habits and by managing my emotions to bring my brain back to a more normal thought pattern. I would have liked to receive help with this, but 0 out of 4 psychologists/ psychiatrists were unable to offer appropriate solutions. My family and I were left to manage this on our own. In addition, about a month after I started seeing him, a letter arrived from Bill Me Later thanking us for opening an account with them. I confronted him about this and he denied he ever opened an account in my husband's name. After hours on the phone with Bill Me Later, I received proof that a day after the account was opened, an amount was charged to the account by Samko's merchant account and deposited in his account. I talked to him several times and instead of reversing the charges, he kept denying he opened the account or charged $. Bill Me Later stated he could not have entered all the information necessary to open the account without knowing what he was doing. I was unable to get him to cooperate and reverse the charges. Finally, an officer from the sheriffs department talked to him and he agreed to reverse the charges. The entire time, I was made by Samko to feel I had done something wrong. After every conversation, he asked if I was coming in for my appointment. I told him every time that I could not see him again under the circumstances. I wasted $1200 of my money seeing this doctor.
