My hatchback was overheating, so I took it to this Midas. Later that day, they called me with a very long list of things wrong, and I don't remember any of it since I don't know much about cars (which I imagine is why they took advantage of me). The cost was $1200. I was very dismayed but figured they knew what they were talking about, so I said yes, and they told me it would be ready in the next three days. Five days later I still didn't have my car back, so I called them and they said they needed three more days. So it was finally ready over a week later. It ran just fine afterwards, until I got on the freeway. Sure enough, my engine overheated and died, there was smoke coming up out of my hood. I angrily called Midas and they told me to have it towed back to them. Unfortunately this was right before they closed so they couldn't look at it until the next day. They told me that I had a ""blown gasket"" which was unrelated to the previous work, and would cost me an additional $500. I trusted them again, and guess what, it was only a matter of days until my engine was overheating again. This time I took it to Slaugh's Car Care downtown. They said all it needed was some minor engine work, which was $200 and would be done the same day! That was months ago and my car has run fine ever since! Do not take your car here no matter what, they are crooks and should be shut down!
