Review content:
It was quite possibly the worst experience we ever had at any restaurant. We were told by some of our friends that Churrascarias are excellent restaurants for meat lovers, so we decided to go to the Greengrill Churrascaria in Hackensack NJ. I don't know about the other Churrascarias, but this one leaves a lot to the imagination and very little substance on the table and the service no better than any $2.00 badly cooked hot dog joint despite steep prices of approx $50.00 per person.\r
We got to the Churrascaria early in the evening and we were promptly seated in one large room beyond the salad bar. The self-serve salad bar wasn't bad, they had all kinds of fresh greens, rice, shrimp and other delicacies. But, here the story when it came to the main course.\r
They have this red/green artifact on the table; if your turn the green side up it means that you desire more meat, if you turn the red side up it means that you are finished with the meat and you want to move to dessert and coffee, or whatever.\r
We had our ""artifact"" green side up. We were served some (not bad) vegetables and three thin slices of grilled skirt steak on each plate which we ate in about 2 minutes, we then waited for the waiter to comeback to our table, about ten minutes later he came back with the same skirt meat on a skewer, we got another three slices and off he went to serve another table and another ten minute wait. \r
He came back with the same skirt steak again and we asked if he didn?t have any other kind of meat (we were told that they serve filet mignon, porterhouse, New York cuts, roast beef, fresh ham, skirt steak and other kinds of meats) At this point, we asked about the above cuts of meat and he said that they were not available, only grilled and sliced skirt steak. Wait 15 min.\r
\r
He came back with salmon this time which he served on our plates (one little piece each) and off he went again. We then turned our artifact red side up and we left. Do not recommend this rip-off to anyone.
Pros: Seated promptly
Cons: Rip-off
