Review content:
DO NOT GO HERE!! There are so many other excellent vets in the Baltimore area -- avoid this one. \r \r Falls Road Animal Hospital is over-priced. Though this is not my biggest concern when caring for my dog, I balk at the idea of over-paying for sub-par service. Even more disturbingly, they pad your bill with tests & medications you do not need. Just one example of many: they had my dog's stool tested in-house and planned to send it out of house for a more thorough test. Each test cost about $40. I was not told the price nor (more importantly) told that the out of house test would test for the same parasites that the in house tested for, plus more. I was also not told that the issue was not time sensitive. Long and short: they performed an extra, unnecessary test to increase my bill. When I balked at this, they told me it wasn't their problem as i had ""authorized"" the tests. This authorization consisted of the Dr. telling me he was going to do two tests and then ushering me to the waiting room. \r \r If that weren't enough, I have never spend less than an hour in Falls Road Animal Hospital, even if the actual exam only takes 10-15 minutes. Despite this, I often feel like my own visit is being rushed through. With an exam costs $50 baseline (without any tests or medications), one would hope for first-rate service.\r \r Though I have had a couple of vets that were competent (though none were outstanding), at least one of their vets is truly incompetent, arrogant and careless.\r \r I am a scientist and have an excellent understanding of biology. I also grew up with animals and horses and have a pretty good understanding of vet care. I have never been treated as poorly as I have at Falls Road Animal Hospital, both by the vets and by the support staff. The vets seem rushed and overbooked and often do not discuss my dog's diagnosis with me -- they leave that to the receptionist. \r \r Though I'm sure many people are lucky enough to have an average experience, I guarantee you that Falls Road Animal Hospital gives sub-par, over-priced, careless and arrogant animal care. Every dog owner I have ever met in Baltimore (and that is over 50 people) has a negative story to tell about this facility and none of them use it.\r It is popular because it is well-located, has emergency service and advertises, advertises, advertises. Do yourself, your pet and society a favor and do not go to this hospital. Pros: Emergency service, well located Cons: Expensive, arrogant, incompitent, dismissive
