I have had an account with Commerce Bank for many years and have found the service to be satisfactory - nothing special. Actually, I really do NOT like calling their call center. The CSRs are rude and typically don't know much about banking. The reps at the branches however tend to be very knowledgeable and kind. A few weeks ago I was very impressed with Commerce's Security/Fraud department. They called to tell me that a $.60 charge had been made on my Visa Check Card by a hardware store in IL and as a result, they placed a hold on my card. I am so grateful that they watch my account so closely. This was a few weeks before Christmas and I was very lucky to not have my account cleaned out by theives. As a result, I will most likely keep my checking accounts at Commerce for a long time.
