I love tamarind, been there quite a few times but oftentimes one does need to pay attention to negative comments. It had been great and five star, however lately especially turning the afternoon , the food quality can be very spotty at times. Nights seem to be better at times , but maybe it was a bad cook.\r \r I went just recently and it wasn't just one time (to be fair) , the food quality was not too much to write home about. \r Venison chops were hard not tender ($27 for 2 pieces!) cooks are supposed to make it acidic and more tender . Malsador chops I ate at night great but three pieces for $27. The lamb kebabs were nothing to write home about , great but could be better and certainly not worth the $20 pricetag for just that, by the way it was only 4 pieces not that big. I could get the same chops for $10 at another high end place.\r \r The lamb shank is great but I had that at night and I think the only because its made with wine \r \r The tandoori chicken, well the last time it was great and marinated, this time - Burnt more than usual although not too bad and instead of 2 breasts , they gave me four thighs for $20. Desserts were great the last time , horrible this time\r \r rasmali This time around not moist but dry, very little pistachios unlike before, only a few drips of milk (aka a few small half and half 1 oz condiments people put in their coffee) and two small pieces for $6\r \r Creme brulee tasted like maple syrup over cold eggs, cheesecake was okay at night but the mango sauce which supposedly comes with vanilla smelt as if it was spoiled, you don't even need the sauce, (its already sweet and has mango).\r \r Food itself is 3 stars and were talking about $80 just for the entrees.\r \r The raita also seemed as if it was made a bit more watery ,weak flavor of tomato/mint \r \r Be forewarned! a former favorite gone downhill Pros: Food is okay, staff acts a bit better than most places i trying to be more professional, great decor and arrangement considering its price , clean , open late, interesting selection Cons: Extremely high price for food that for average food, not getting what you pay for, desserts not that great, quality gone downhill, condiments watery, meat can be overcooked at times
