Review content:
My fiance, his parents, and I were looking at venues for our rehearsal dinner. The men at the gate were very friendly and said it should be no problem for us to see the venue and speak with the concierge. We looked around and then spoke with the concierge for ten minutes, and even though we liked the facilities very much, it was a bit outside our budget, and I told her this. Not a minute later, the concierge abruptly told us they had a strict no-jeans policy and we would have to leave immediately. She tracked down my fiance's father, who was looking around the next room, and told him that he must leave as well. We complied and went outside, but felt that her behavior towards us was unacceptable from a customer service point-of-view. She told my fiance's mother, who was in the bathroom, that ""your people are waiting outside."" My fiance, who was justifiably angry, had a word with her manager, and he apologized, which was very professional of him. No one at the gate had informed us of the dress code rule. We would have been understanding of the dress code policy if the concierge had handled the matter with more tact. Instead, we were made to feel like riffraff and unceremoniously booted out, even though there were very few people on the premises. We might have used their facilities for another event in the future, but not after this kind of treatment.
