Beware the underground parking lot at Quality Suites Millbrae (part of the Choice Hotels chain).\r \r While my husband and I were on vacation for 10 days, my car sustained thousands of dollars worth of damage while parked in the Quality Suites Millbrae parking lot because of the leaking roof of the garage. It looked like the paint (and lye) from the ceiling of the garage was so wet from the fissure that was leaking that it was running onto my car (the driver's side door, top of car, along the hatchback dripping down to the fender.) Although we immediately tried to remove the paint damage from the car, we were unable to. I called the hotel that night and the front desk clerk said he remembered this happening to cars last winter and that just a run through a car wash would clean it up. I doubted that but tried it anyway. Didn't work. So I was without my car for 2 weeks while my car had to be repainted. And I didn?t even ask for the hotel to pay the damages, just refund the charge for my stay. They would not refund my overnight charge of $130. They said it was because parking at the hotel is at my own risk!! Can you imagine this happening to your car, and the responsible party bascially just says ""hmm, too bad."" I could understand it if some random person went into the garage and broke into my car or otherwise damaged my car, but Quality Suites Millbrae seemed to be aware that their garage roof leaked, it had happened before and they did absolutely nothing about it. Couldn?t they have at least just blocked off the few spots there were affected by the leak?\r \r Plus, we had to wait 40 minutes at the airport for the Shuttle to pick us up, we saw other hotel shuttles coming back thru 2 or 3 times before we finally got our ride.\r \r Anyway, obviously, I do not recommend this hotel. There are many other fine options, I just wish I would have picked one of them!!! Pros: Close to airport
