Review content:
After hearing all the hype about Midwest Grill, I went for dinner thinking that it could surely satisfy the carnivorous desires of both my girlfriend and I, but I couldn?t have been more wrong. I should have known immediately from our overly water-downed beers that what was ahead of me was only disappointment. \r While the buffet they offered with the meal was moderately edible, with good plantains and a bean dish that was tasty, the truth is these are only side dishes and not what anyone is shelling out their money for, like you, what interested me about this place was their meat. Of course, if you even have the chance to get some good meat from Midwest Grill, consider yourself lucky because the rude and stern servers going around with the meat skewers rarely came by and when they do, they ration out only the smallest portions. Now, perhaps the servers were doing me a favor and I didn?t know it, but what I do know is that every time I did get meat, it was bland and dry, if barely chewable, which is unacceptable when this is one of the more expensive churrasquerias in Boston. Hoping that it might just be a bad meat skewer that would improve in the next batch, we waited and went through several disappointing rounds but everything atrophied in taste, quality, and quantity with every round. The final straw came in our ""dessert"" options: canned peaches, old watermelon that looked half-chewed, and ice cream, the option that I sadly opted for, but which ended up being spoiled. \r \r Midwest Grill is simply an overrated, expensive embarrassment that should be avoided. In addition, the editorial staff of CitySearch needs to rethink their glowing recommendation of this restaurant, there are better and cheaper locations out there ? learn to differentiate please. \r Pros: Plantains and Bean Dish Cons: Pretty Much Everything - save your money and pepto, go anywhere else...
