Review content:
I found the spa experience at Pratima Salon to be enjoyable and relaxing. Upon entering the salon I encountered a calm and serene feeling. The music, scents, and relaxing nature of the place is very inviting.
You do have to take off your shoes when you enter which I wasn't very fond of. I invest in my shoes and don't quite like to have them displayed for all or bathe in other people's bacteria. The front desk should have offered up complimentary slippers.
When I got to the room for my facial I felt immediately relaxed. My treatment began with my aesthetician Janet asking me if I would like sandalwood incense lit for my pleasure and comfort. I found it to be a nice personal touch.
Before the treatment we discussed my concerns and Janet addressed all of them. I have had many facials at different high-end Manhattan spas and none of them compared to this experience. Janet had a very gentle touch and was great through the extractions. She explained what she was going to do and made very sure that I was doing ok. I have sensitive skin and she was very considerate.
At the end she explained all the products she had used. I appreciated that she didn't push the products onto me (unlike some of these other spas who will strongly recommend you purchase the entire store). In fact, I ended up purchasing the entire line she used.
I had a favorable experience and would recommend this spa and Janet in particular.
Pros: Knowledgeable Aesthetician and Quality Products
Cons: Front desk can be a little salty
