Review content:
a colleague challenged me to find a great ethnic restaurant in the state capitol of oregon. basically, i am still looking. i tried to go to a little vietnamese place right downtown, but a woman literally turned the closed sign to face me as i approached the door at 7:30 pm. the next one i found was a thai restaurant in a big mall. it was pretty busy so i thought it would be a good bet. it took 20 minutes to get seated with water and then i had to ask for silverware. i ordered the tom ka gai soup with tofu, which was quite good. the entree of garlic shrimp -- allegedly a specialty - was, first, cold, so i had to send it back to be heated. then, so salty, i couldn't eat it. service was terrible. when i explained the problem to the very young waitress, she asked if i wanted a box to take it home. good lord. Pros: tom ka gai soup with tofu Cons: service and garlic shrimp specialty
