Review content:
I've been eating here for over 30 years and have never been disappointed. It is always a treat to sit down to a basket of the best chips in the city. They haven't been sitting in the warming drawer, but are fresh out of the fryer and then to your table. When you bite into that first chip with warm (not cold) salsa, your taste buds simply say ""thank you"". The food has been consistent over the decades with the best taco sauce I have ever eaten. It is made fresh every day in the their kitchen, not from a chain commissary. The sauce tastes almost like a relish with a sweet taste and is simply incredible on their tacos or spooned over the rice. Ask for a small bowl of it on the side, since you will want more - MMMMM The quality has been great and none of the recipes have changed in the 30 years I've eaten there. The servers are great because they're proud of the quality food they serve. If you want a break from Johnson County average Mexican food, then drive downtown. While down there, drive around and marvel at the improvements in downtown and the city market. Enjoy. Pros: Old original family Recipes, quality, fresh and hot Cons: Busy on weekends, but that's a good thing
