Review content:
My dog has been a member at the GV location for three months and has so far contracted two illneses, including a case of pneumonia following a four night/five day boarding stay. When I picked up my 7th month old puppy she had a hacking kennel cough that noone on staff had noticed and which quickly evolved into pneumonia costing over $1,000 in vet bills. I called customer care and the person on the phone gushed with empathy but adamantly insisted that B&B had no responsibility whatever and actually admonished me for not consulting a vet as soon as i had noticed the cough, ie the night I had picked her up from their business. He asked me to fax her medical records and assured me that B&B's resident vet would look them over and get back to me. Never happened. I requested a refund for the class I had just signed her up for (since she was now too sick to participate) and was told no way. I shouldn't have been surprised. About a week after plunking down $300 for her annual membership fee (this is in addition to charges for the day care), there were flyers on the reception desk with some discounted services for new members. So, I asked to sign her up for a couple of them. I was told the flyers were for new members only, ""But I am a new member""...""Well, no, it's for non-members""...""What?""...""Well, these offers aren't for you, they shouldn't have been displayed. These are for non-members who pick them up in a retail store who then become members. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair"". Again, I have to ask, ""What?"" And I am still asking it...I am also asking myself why. Why did I get suckered into this overpriced, overhyped place? The answer is I love my dog. But, frankly, I feel taken advantage of. Despite being one of the more expensive dog day cares in the city, they've just raised prices. The other illness she contracted - warts on her lip and tongue. Gross. 3 months into the outrageous membership fee, she's been home for half of them thanks to contagion she contracted there.
Pros: my dog likes it
Cons: my dog was hospitalized thanks to their inattention
