Review content:
Though it feels like you're walking into a cafeteria buffet, a sign near the entrance of Stack 'Em High informs customers that it is not, in fact, a buffet. Customers are intented to serve themselves cereal, fruit, and drinks, but must order their hot breakfasts from the cashier at the end of the line. They offer pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, and omelets, which they bring to your table in about 10 minutes. The sausage biscuits and gravy was so salty, it was difficult to eat and the potatoes were nothing to write home about. Their omelets are pretty good, and I can't comment on their pancakes or waffles. The decor is odd, with white southern garden-style benches interspersed with Perkins-style booths. There is a strange selection of posters on the wall ranging from local scenery, to cityscapes of NY and DC, and a poster of one of the cliff top monasteries in Meteora, Greece. Stack 'Em High has not much to recommend it other than it's existence as one of only a handful of breakfast places on the OBX.
