Oy! This is NOT the vanilla Phoenix Chompies I visited a dozen years ago. Several things bowled me over here. First, the mature Jewish clientele. (I hope I can get by saying that since I grew up a nice gentile boy -what happened? never you mind! - in Sheepshead Bay). Anyway, you walk thru the door, you're halfway to Bensonhurst. Second, bakery case much bigger than Karsh's. Cant vouch for anything yet except the chocolate eclairs, but the case looked amazing. The pastrami makes, as they say, a very nice sandwich and the missus thoroughly enjoyed her kosher combo plate. My 11 year old baptised bubbala settled for his usual turkey sandwich. Goyishe kup. Heck, I was so giddy, I even ordered an egg creme! Pros: Brooklynesque, full deli, huge bakery selection
