Person A and Person B went to cash their check while at the checkout line, and the inexperienced cashier tried to talk to the manager on duty on how to do it. The manager told her and she then proceeded as most would in cashing a check. I was being very patient with her as I know what it's like to be new to a job or specific task. Person B slides the food stamp card and enters pin to cover the cost of the food, while Person A puts up the ID and wallet. After this the cashier puts the check through the check reader and next thing Person A and B know is the cashier put the check toward the cost of food and ignores the food stamp card that was entered. The manager shut down her register to come see what happened. The manager and cashier acusses Person A and B that they didn't tell them that they wanted the check cashed. So what is it when you ask to have a check cashed.... fogotten words? Then the manager says that due to a lack of staff a refund isn't possible. Person B picks up the check they left sitting on the scanner area. The manager says they need it back; however Person B explains since we can't get a refund then they do not need our check. Person A and B were told that if they wanted the grocieries then they would have to give the check back and the change of the check would be given. If they didn't want to give the check back they were to give up the grocieries. \r After leaving there A and B tried to go to other places to cash the check, but couldn't due to the account numbers printed on the back. Upon returning to the store the to try to cash it there again the other manager on duty is called and A tells the story to her. She says that they don't want anything else to do with the check. Person A asks what places cash a check with the account # they printed on the back. The manager says she doesn't think anyone will. So essentially they completely voided a check worth about $100.\r \r After returning this morning the Director sweetly fixed the problem! Thanks!! Pros: The prices are great, and so is the Director! Cons: Some cashiers can be rather rude to customers and offer little customer service!
