the pour house was my favorite bar in the back bay for two reasons: its cheap and the food is good. so, my boyfriend and i (who were frequent customers) made the decision to put up with the rude, awful service. however, a recent experience there has drawn the line and we will never go back. the bartenders were incredibly rude to us and handled a situation which could have been diffused by politeness very poorly. horrible customer service. we have been overcharged, ignored by waitstaff, gotten the wrong orders, etc. having gone there about once a week for nearly a year, my boyfriend and i can think of only TWO waitresses in that entire time who were competent and friendly. despite the very good and cheap food, it's not worth it to be treated rudely. we will be taking our business elsewhere.
