Review content:
Companion Care - Dad loved talking and mom was a patient listener. Suddenly she wasn’t there anymore. Then he realized what she meant to him. But what worried us was every time we visited him he seemed to become more withdrawn – as if he wanted to shut himself away from the outside world. We spoke to his parish priest who used to visit as often as he could. He said dad was lonely and needed a companion - someone he could talk to. Otherwise he was quite capable of looking after himself. Father suggested Visiting Angels San Jose as a solution. It was a seniors’ home care facility which had served some of his other parishioners. That was six months and several care givers ago. They provide just a few hours of companion care every day, but Dad is a changed person. He likes meeting new faces to whom he can relate all his old stories. He’s happy, so are we.
