The biggest decisions we had to make while planning our trip to New York was where to stay at a reasonable price. We are in our late 40's (one of us turned 50 while there) and wanted a cIean and comfortable place in an area that would give us a feel for what it would be like to live in New York. I visited the New York forum on tripadvisor and one of the places I was recommended to was the West Eleventh Townhouse. We booked well in advance of our trip as this place fills up quick. It was excatly like the pictures on their website. We loved the accommodations we stayed in the Leonardo Suite. The bed was extremely comfortable and our room was cleaned and the linens and towels were changed everyday. If you truely want to get a good New York experience, I highly recommend West Eleventh. It is located in a lovely neighborhood and my hubby and I felt very safe, with your pick of good restaruants just a short walk away. I really appreciated everything being so close after a tiring day of site seeing. In the morning we would get up and walk to the corner store to get fresh coffee and a bagel, they also have a great deli where they make fresh sandwiches. My hubby and I had never stayed anywhere but at hotels before and were not sure what to expect. What a great experience we had with West Eleventh, it was everything we wanted and expected it to be. It was so nice to come home after a long day of shopping and site seeing to peace and quiet. The subways are within walking distance but if you are cabbing it the fares are resonable to get home from most places in the city. Silvia, the roving concierge was very helpful in every way. Everything that was arranged happened when and where it was supposed to. There was no suprises at all. Thanks again to all the West Eleventh staff and the proprietors Mr and Mrs. Kontos's for making our trip to New York so memorable.\r
