Review content:
There's a lovely worn-in feel that Por Que No? has established, despite the fact their Hawthorne location has only been there for a couple of years. Around dinner time, a line stretches out the door, embarrassing any nearby restaurant. Is it just a trend? No. It's really tasty. Homemade chips and tortillas, fresh juices and cocktails, bright and flavorful salsas, and lots of happy eating people. What's not to love? As someone that needs to eat a strict gluten-free diet, I can eat almost anything here. The tortillas and chips are corn, the breading on the fish is rice flour, and the cocktails are delicious. Friendly, upbeat staff make it a lively and lighthearted experience. No hipster scowls, just nice people. The order-at-the-counter style makes for a clever dine and take-off, and after a few visits, you'll realize why people line up at this Upper-Hawthorne haven.
