I ended up choosing another nearby facility after visiting 24 Hr. I first called them on the phone asking the straight out question: ""How much can I get a month to month membership for?' A very \r SIMPLE question and oh my god, did I want to AVOID that 'just walked onto a car lot' feeling that you can get as some gym rep tries to sell the plan that they make the most commision off of! \r They absolutely refused to answer my question. I went in against my better judgment; having skipped past the red flag of the dismissal I had gotten on the phone...to indeed be introduced to a membership rep who, knowing I was NOT interested in a long term membership...acted as if he had just lost his best friend and never smiled once as he went ahead and explained it all anyway. It was a waste of my time...he knew it...and he looked at me like I was some kind of loser for not buying into ""their best deal"". I'm sure I could get the workout I need on the equipment they have. It is not the best or the worst gym I have seen. But I could not get past that feeling that I was really neither appreciated for what I wanted, nor for the fact that I showed interest at all. Glassy eyed pressure(you've seen it!)is what I got.\r Again..;.there are three other gyms nearby(if you also count the 'Y's facility across from the police station). I got the impression that this rep had not made enough sales lately and he expected me to fix all that. I HATE it when sales reps are more interested in me fulfilling their quotas or expectations rather than help me get what I want(and would be the one paying for in any event). Based on that 'ho-hum' attitude I got on that day I was not thinking about working out but GETTING OUT of that place on that day! I do remember the reps name.... but I will spare him the embarassment as I have spared myself the expense. \r I now work out at home with P90X videos and I get more respect from a DVD than I felt I got for showing an interest in this local gym. Creepy.
