I've been going to Hisako for Japanese hair straightening for almost 8 years now. The girl who usually does my hair (unfortunately, I don't know her name) is absolutely wonderful. My hair is soft, sleek, full of life after every hair straightening appointment.
I have since moved to London but still travel back to NYC & Hisako once a year to get my hair straightened. Unfortunately, this year my usual stylist wasn't there & my hair was done by a guy. I should never have trusted someone else to do my hair. I don't know what he did to it, but it is definitely not straight. I had wavy hair before and now it's horribly frizzy, damaged & looks like the end of a broom. I've tried to use flat irons, conditioners, protein shampoos but nothing makes it look passable. I look like a freak at the moment.
Unfortunately, I'm back in London so I cannot go to the salon and get my money back. I've called them and they say they've never had a problem with anybody else. Which is a lie since I found a few other reviews with EXACTLY the same problem as mine! Plus they already have my money so they don't really care.
I went to another salon yesterday to get a second opinion and she said that the stylist has burnt my hair by using flat irons that were too hot. I also remember that he had used the irons while my hair was still a bit wet. Result: my hair is damaged beyond repair. There isn't much I can do except wait for my hair to grow out (which will be another 6 months!)
Please DO NOT go there is you want to get Japanese Hair straightening (thermal reconditioning) !! They will completely ruin your hair !!
