As a longtime resident and someone who goes out 3-4 times a week minimum, I highly recommend Shanghai 1930! The mood is like being in an exclusive club in Shanghai in the 1930's....hence the name. True to it's time there is a lot of excellent Jazz....really excellent new stuff, the staff is old-school with the service and the food is exactly how it should be...better than you even thought it could be!\r \r And it is fun to take out of town guests or old friends that have never been as people are always really impressed when they walk down the red stairs into the ""club"" at how different it is from anything else in San Francisco. Shanghai 1930 becomes the new/old favorite of many for many reasons!
