I used to live in the west village and was back recently and stumbled into this little gem. A friend and I sat at the bar, right by the window for a couple of hours, sampled (perhaps too many!) of the fabulous wines on the list and had a total blast. We loved the pizzas we tried (""ropa vieja"" was my fave) and I had some questions about some of the wines and the bartender Charles was really nice and knowledgeable--not like one of those scary sommeliers with a ""cup"" necklace which I hate; more like a really cool friend with a great wine cellar. My friend (a die-hard New Yorker who took the window seat) was freaking out over the view of the Empire State Building. I did notice that the place st arted to get pretty packed (it was a Friday night) but that's to be expected, the word must be getting out. Anyway--a totally fabulous west village experience that made me want to move back!! Pros: Wine List, Ambience, Service Cons: Can get packed
