Review content:
I was at the wedding on July 31st, : while the lawns are really nice, the rest of the package simply doesn't add up. The arrangements were very shoddy...... I wholeheartedly second the review given: while the lawns are really nice, the rest of the package simply doesn't add up. The arrangements were very shoddy (the canopies, etc, were sagging at many places); the music was indeed positioned all wrong, and I don't believe the inn keeper Marie's comments that that's the way the party wanted it. The food was strictly so so, perhaps, even lower than that. Not at all in keeping with what a pretty richly priced venue should be having. Worst of all, the upkeep of the inn looked terrible...I didn't stay there but happened to see the insides, including the bathroom (though they aren't 1/4th mile away, but still quite far!), and the lobby, and they looked terribly rundown. The door frames are all dirty, grimy, and spoil one's mood. I can imagine what somebody who comes here spending 300 or 400 bucks would feel like when they saw the really downmarket look of this property. It does look as if the innkeepers are not really interested in making this otherwise nice property look good...maybe it's the economy, or poor business, or simply that there hearts are not in this. Lastly, and the worst part, was the kitchen...I happened to walk into it (it's just next to the dining area), and boy, Was it dirty! It looked liked the ""before"" pictures in a Restaurant Impossible episode: there was muck all over, Food stuff including vegetables lying on the floor, trays stuffed carelessly into areas below the tables, and a general air of dirt and filth. Didn't see any rats but such places, out in the open, would be absolute magnets for rats, for sure. The kitchen absolutely put me off ever even eating here, let alone staying here. I did a read a few reviews earlier of poor housekeeping, and this appears to be a continuing theme at this property. The property, it must be said, is very pretty outwardly, but given all that I saw and the overall very, very disappointing marriage arrangements, I have to give it 1 Star only. There are far, far better places around to drop your marriage and holiday budget on than this. Would unhesitatingly say AVOID.
