The Ip Piano School is dedicated to helping young people discover their musical talent through the study of piano or violin. The director, Ms. Winnie S.C. Ip works tirelessly to ensure that students receive a high quality musical education, but more than that, she imparts values that transcend musical performance. Students learn self-discipline and the benefits of working hard to achieve a goal. \r

As a music educator who has taught music in the public schools and who has no personal interest in the Ip Piano School, and who is not a member of the local Chinese community who make up a considerable portion of her students (but not exclusively so) I can only state that Ms. Ip consistently displays the highest standards of professionalism. I have heard her students perform in recital and while they individually have different levels of ability and talent, all are movtivated to work to the level of their potential. \r

I would not hesitate to have my child study with Ms. Ip or one of her staff members as I believe that they would benefit from her course of instruction not only in the development of musicianship, but in the development of character as well.\r

I have spoken with several of the parents of Ms. Ip's students and they are unanimous in their praise of her teaching ability and that of her staff.\r

The only issue that I would have with her studio is that parking can sometimes be a problem, but on the other hand it is conveniently located near Boston South Station and other forms of public transportation.
