Review content:
The food at alons is very good. I am quite fond of their albacore tuna sandwich with capers on baguette. The baked goods are always top notch, especially the cookies. However, be prepared for a confusing setup. There are no clear lines.. people just crowd at various parts of the long counter.. it's not quite clear if you are in the line for soup, sandwhiches, desserts, coffee, or to pay. The staff makes it quite clear that they can only get you what they have at their ""station"", so if you are getting more than one item.. you can have a long wait. The staff can be somewhat apathetic, I don't think they have actually been rude to me, but then they also don't go out of their way to be friendly Another treat besides the food at Alons is one of the owners who bears a striking resemblance to Alanis Morrissette. You really have to see her to believe it.
Pros: food, variety, alanis morrissette
Cons: pricey, no seating, confusing lines
