Businiess name:  Burbank Commons Apartments

Review content:
First things first, the staff is very nice and that does count for something. But when it comes to competence, honesty about its amenities, and professionalism, Burbank Commons is as bad as any revolving door apartment complex for college students. \r \r Expect to lose $200 on your first month's rent as the complex expects you to pay on August 1 for new tenants but will not let you move in until the middle of the month. In most cases this type of action would be illegal, but based on the way the apartment constructs the lease they are able to get away without it without violating the law. When I moved in not only had the apartment not been cleaned but the mattress they promised as part of their ""furnished"" apartment was so dirty and worn out that within ten seconds of looking at it and sitting on it I called the front office and asked them to remove it. Once I finally purchased my own bed, it took the apartment complex 6 months to supply me with a bed frame. To their credit the new bedframe is very nice.\r \r As far as the amenities, the complex promises a 24 fitness center and separate weight room. To their credit the complex has made the weightroom very nice; however, the fitness center consistently has treadmills and elyptical machines that are broken for weeks and sometimes months at a time. The water fountain in the fitness room has been broken for at least eighteen months. The apartments offer a lighted tennis court that I use at least twice a week, but the lights have not worked for at least 13 months. There are significant holes in the parking lot. Also, the apartment provides cheap washers/dryers that they refuse to replace. Recently, and after my third complaint, the apartment did find a way to fix temporarily the dryer, but I expect that I will soon have to run the dryer for three hours for one semi-full laundry. \r \r Maintenance staff not professionally trained to handle plumbing, electric, appliance, and other necessary tasks at B.B. Pros: Close to L.S.U. Cons: Unprofessional, Incompetent Maintenance Staff; broken and cheap appliances, broken amenities
