My husband and I have gone to Cinetopia many, many times. We try to go on Friday night when we can procure a sitter for our two small children. My husband travels a lot for business, and I'm a stay-at-home mom, so our grownup/date time is limited--we try to make the most of it. The living room is the ONLY way to go. We don't even bother with the grand auditoriums. We once had a nosh prior to the movie (in the theater, not the dining room), but the food was tasteless in miniscule portions at a ridiculously bloated price. Don't bother to eat there. The big deal with Cinetopia is that the living room theaters, besides having huge comfy chairs, is always 21-or-older: No kids kicking your seats, teens whispering and giggling, young college kids with cell phones ringing. It's a WONDERFUL grownup escape. Also, being able to enjoy a cold microbrew (or wine) during the flick is a big bonus! My husband and I go elsewhere to eat a nice meal, then go there for a movie and have a pitcher of beer with the flick. It's a great night out. The main problem with Cinetopia is that there are only three living room theaters, so there are never more than three options if you want to enjoy a no-kids movie. We periodically have to take a few weeks off because they'll run one movie for too long. DaVinci, for example, has been playing in the LR forever. MI:3 was up forever too. For the past three weeks, we've not been able to go because they didn't change their movies and we'd already seen them. My other complaint is that they generally just play the typical big-money movies, nothing artistic or indy. Also, with those huge seats, there are far fewer of them, so they sell out fast. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying tickets a day or so in advance from the site. The new flicks, especially, sell out far in advance (esp the 8pm shows). Get there early: 1.Parking is a pain. 2.The best LR seats (upper 2 rows) fill up fast. Two LR tickets $28, a pitcher of beer $15...but well worth it for what you get... Pros: LR: No kids, drinks, great seats Cons: Bad food, too few movie options run for too many weeks
