When you call for a taxi you will likely get someone on the phone who doesn't give a crap. That in itself is a turn off because good customer service is all about appearance. The sound of your voice is one of them. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Whenever you're on the phone with them and are towards the end of your conversation, don't expect them to politely say goodbye. They will typically hang up and you will be left on the line wondering what the heck just happened. There is one redeeming quality about them, they take insurance if you need to get from your house to the hospital. The downside... If you don't specify immediatly that you will be using this insurance, they make you pay cash. They also require you to call twenty-four hours before your appointment, but this isn't always the case. Allow me to give you a story. I had an appointment today at 11am to go to a very important (possibly lifesaving) neurological appointment. This was to see if brain surgery were an option before something bad were to happen. I called the day before exactly twenty-four hours in advance to make preparations to get to the hospital and was promptly told in that uncaring voice to call back after eight pm. I did so and made the arrangements to be picked up at 10:30am. During the conversation there was no question of payment in cash and so I went to sleep. The next morning came around and I received several phone calls from taxi asking for directions because they could not find the place. When they finally did find it the time was 10:53 am. I sat down with my insurance card at the ready so I didn't have to be any later than I had to and stated that it would be on my insurance. The taxi driver radioed it in and said I would be paying with insurance and the guy on the other end said cash. Well, as I don't make alot whilst disabled I can't really pay fifty dollars to the hospital and fifty dollars back so I said again insurance. The guy at the other end of the radio said cash. In the end I was forced to call the hospital and let them know I couldn't come in. After being told how important to my health and well being it was to get to this appointment they rescheduled for weeks later. So, the moral of this story is: Don't use Yellow Cab if you need to get anywhere important. Heck, I wouldn't suggest using it if you need to get anywhere. Pros: Take multiple forms of payment including insurance Cons: Bad customer service
