I must say first and foremost that I have a VERY strong reason to believe that all the reviews on here past 2006 are written by the staff members. There were no reviews for like 2 years and all of a sudden in the past month there are several. Also last time I was there, I heard the girls talking about citysearch. I have had my blonde hair colored 3 times by the salon owner, Charlie. I found her to be rude and snobby. She constantly interupted me every time i spoke and made some very stuck up comments (ex ""I wouldn't even get out of bed for $40,000 a year). She got mad at me when I told her I didn't want to have it cut this last time around and rolled her eyes and shook her head. My blonde always turns out really grey/ashy with purple tones in it whenever she colors it. She also charges an arm and a leg, $280 for a bleach and tone last time i was there. Its normally $140 but because I asked her to run some toner through my ends which took about 5 mins, she charged me double. For that price it should look AWESOME and instead I had to run to Sally's and try to buy some product to fix it. I was in NY a week later and got my hair cut by a celebrity stylist, she was SHOCKED that someone let me leave their salon with my hair color that bad. They all looked at my hair and agreed that it was very patchy and had several weird colors in it. I now go to a diff salon in the Ann Arbor area and they actually all knew right away who Charlie was and said she has a reputation for being b****y and they get alot of ex Salon XL customers. DON""T GO TO SALON XL and if you do, do not book an appointment with Charlie. Some of the other ladies seem lovely but Charlie's attitude always ruins the atmosphere.
Pros: Cute salon, have nice products
Cons: Rude owner, poor colorist skills, pushy, overpriced, unprofessional atmosphere
